When you've got only a few days to figure out how to get a hold of a car and take it's photo before it disappears on a ferry across to Ireland you really need to get your finger out.

Unfortunately that's one thing I'm not exactly famous for, but with Sam's clocking ticking away the seconds till departure the troops were rallied and a date was set to get busy with his Citroen rally replica.

Sam's been using Strathycruise for years and although he now stays in Ireland he's lived a lot of his life in Bellshill, and with that being so close to Strathclyde Park, he was always down there enjoying the good life when things were a bit friendlier a few years ago.

Some of our older visitors might even remember his red Dakar beach buggy with its yellow suspension. Never one to wait in the queues of traffic, Sam would just drive across the central reservation and disappear off home when he got bored. Now that he lives in Cork it's not very often he's back in Scotland but thanks to some gentle persuasion on the forum he agreed to make the journey across to have his car on the Strathycruise stand for Banzai's Crail day in April.

Even though Sam's only owned the car for 3 months he's already totally blown away with how good it is.

�It's brilliant! I've not needed to do a thing to it apart from new tyres and changing the mirrors over because the ones it came with were too small to see anything out of� he explained. When we asked him what it's like to drive he commented that anywhere he goes people just can't stop staring at the car.

�I cant go anywhere without people turning and pointing, other drivers going past nearly break their necks trying to get a good look!� With this being as close a replica as you're likely to find back in Ireland nothing touches it.

�There is another replica in Dublin but it doesn't have the wide arches or anything like that. When I was back in Scotland with the car I got stopped by the police twice. I hadn't done anything wrong, they just wanted to get a closer look around the car!� As much as Sam loves the car he does have his mind on other things �I've always been an VW and BMW fan having owned a few Golfs and 3 series so I'm looking to get something German soon � I just haven't decided what�. We're sure that Sam's next car will be just as exciting as this one and we cant wait to see it turning up in Scotland at a future event!
