The Fast & Modified Show is Scotland's answer to Max Live and Donny
all rolled into one, without the massive expense of a trip down south.
Those who've been around the scene for a while should already know that
the 06 outing was the third annual event with even more things happening
than the previous years combined but still they managed to keep the entry
fee at £10? How'd they do that then?
Yup for two sky divers visitors could experience the biggest show of the year with everything from the best modified and performance metal on display inside to Terry Grant and his breathtaking stunt show wowing the crowds outside in the sun. Big names from down south made the pilgrimage to display their finest including the Barnes brothers with their Sumo Power line up, ViBE Audio and the Bass Tunnel plus JVC's throbbing Thruster pounding the punters at the entrance. We started the day with a meeting at Strathclyde Park and headed along the M8 in convoy pottering along at 60mph so as not to loose anyone. I don't think anyone could have asked for better weather, the only annoyance was the insect cemetery growing on the front of the cars! We all arrived at the show ground in plenty of time and were ushered in by F&M stalwart Louis. 5 foot-fuckall and shouting his head off at burly workmen parking their vans in the wrong place “here you're gonny have to move that – aye, NOW”. Still amazes me how he doesn't sport two full time black eyes for his cheek.
Once the cars for the Strathycruise stand were inside and congregated in the right place it was pretty easy and quick to get them set out in a half decent running order. Then it was time to kick back, relax and enjoy the rest of the day. Some of the highlights included:
Stuart cooking marshmallows with his front mounted side exit exhaust
ViBE's Judge Dredd demo car, making its first trip north of the border
The F&M van making it third time lucky after missing the last 2 shows (engine failure and bumper damage)
Pink overload – Pink cars, pink subs, pink 6x9's and pink wheels (from FLi, Ballistic and Team Dynamics)
Genuine Chip Foose wheels on show winner Neil's Mini Cooper
Davie from Free Flow doing his duty and pleasing that booty (the Kicker promo girls)
Four Group's classic Porsche flying the flag for SQ
Sumo Power's time attack and D1 weaponry
Decent promo girls (not a heard of munters like some English shows)
FastCar's Steve McCann up covering the event for Gez, Slim, Glenda, Jules and the rest of those FUKers
F&M Goodie Bags – 40 bucks of stuff for £6 ain't to be sniffed at!
Rather good t-shirts on sale (Blitz'd, Pokeyamama etc) designed by moi
Colours vs Fantazia controlling the outdoor stage and holding a crowd from start to finish
ViBE's Korina having the lads swimming in their own saliva
McGinty's J-Lo wide MR2 on its first outing since leaving the garage and body shop
Pie eating contest on stage (sorry no lesbians entered 
Not exactly a highlight but my flash batteries dying just as they pick a winner for the give-away Subaru
