Some of you probably didn't even have a license the last time there was a Motorshow at the SECC. I don't even think I had one. We are all pretty used to having to venture far and wide to find a fix for our motoring addictions but luckily this month we have the mother of all shows, the epic Scottish Motorshow right here in Glasgow.

A far cry from the freezing cold days out at Crail or Knockhill, the Motorshow is indoors and warm. Having never been before I was half expecting young bikini clad temptresses draped across the bonnets of Ferraris but unfortunatly for me and the rest of the males reading this it was all metal and no flesh Smile

The first thing I noticed inside was just how many different makes and models of car were there. I didn't know some of these manufactureers even existed! Being a Rover owner and having their stand in front of the entrance this is where I went first. On display were the new MG Z range of cars, boasting high performance K series engines (as used in the Lotus Exidge / Elise and Caterham 7s) and equally high bhp figures. Along side them were the MGF and the MG XPOWER version of the Rover 25, all rally'd up with huge wheels, huge brakes and all sorts of carbon fibre touches spread over the car. Vauxhall had the Astra Coupe and VX220 on show along with the obligatory "concept" car which looked hideous. Over in the Ford stand was the RS Focus and the Colin McRae / Nicky Grist Cosworth Focus. Werent we lucky Smile

Other attractions were the classic 1982 Pontiac TransAm better known as K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider complete with red flashing lights at the front and the new Mini display team performing all kinds of J turns and handbrake manourves for the dazzled audience.

TVR, Lotus, Ferrari, Maserati, Alpina, Wings West Demo Saxo, Noble and a load of others had stands as well but Ill leave it to the photos to tell you their stories. In all it was a great day out, busy but not so busy that you cant get access to the cars and everyone was polite and helpful (especially The Sun and Knockhill girls). All that's left to say is hurry up and catch the show, it finishes on the 18th so you better be quick!
