September rolls around, and before you know it we have the final major VW event of the year on our doorstep - VW Action, which has now moved home to Herts County Showground, where they hope it will stay for years to come.
As with all of the other VW weekend shows I have attended this year, there is more campers and beetles than you can shake a stick at, and with this being the 3rd huuuuge VW show I have been to this year you begin to get to know the cars and the people who attend all of these shows too.
The big difference between VW Action and the other two big shows I attended this year (namely Big Bang and Bug Jam) is that it's not all about the old style VW's, or as they are more commonly known in the trade - the aircooled Veedubs, there are many newer watercooled wagons on show also.
This mixture of the different generations of dubs makes for a great show, with an atmosphere to match...everyone is there for the same reason - their love of the VW badge and cars alike...
When you can head to a show, park up, pitch the tent, then just relax and enjoy yourself for 3 whole days it seems like things can't get any better...
...and then...
You have the fun fair rides, the dance tents, the competitions (beetle pushing, footie, space hopper races), the trade stalls, the show and shine competitions...not to mention the hundreds upon hundreds of other prides and joy which are scattered loosely around the camping grounds.
All in all, this has by far been a great year of attending all the big shows, I've had my eyes opened to other peoples ideas and ways of modifying...it's all about individual tastes and that's what makes it so much more fun and interesting...thanks must go to Donna for this one...
