It happenned to me at Kwik Fit in EK and they reluctantly re-furbished all 4 of the 19" Vectra wheels.

It will not stop you from bottomming out, this is what happenned to us when we "bottomed out" but that was about 90mph going into a dip over crest, resulted in the 12mm aluminium sump guard ...
